Let's gooooo - February 7, 2022

Alright, it's been a while since I've sent an email, I'm not gonna lie, I've been having a rough time with an android phone. This email was actually supposed to send about 3 weeks ago, but I legit haven't had wifi in 3 weeks. So emails haven't been an option lately haha. But it'd alright.

My Spanish is getting a ton better and I can somewhat have conversations with people, it's really fun to see how much better and more fun missionary work gets as soon as you can start talking and communicating with people. Because I'm not going to lie, when I first got here, I zoned out during every lesson and could hardly talk to anyone, missionary work was a drag and it was just hard. But as soon as my Spanish started to improve, the excitement to wake up and get out and working everyday skyrocketed. Just have to be patient I guess. Patience is definitely something I've been learning while being out here.

I had exchanges with my District leader in his area in Monte Plata. And while we were on this exchange we were almost mugged with a machete, so that got my heart pumping a little. Too bad he didn't actually do anything because that would have been a dope story to tell. But oh well, can't win them all.

We also had the opportunity to go to the Temple! That was a really cool experience. It was also super fun because we got to stay with other missionaries in the old mtc, which is right there on the Temple grounds. We got to walk around the Capital and go get some Wendys, McDonald's and krispy kreme. I spent way too much money on food last week, but it was 100% worth it. Never thought I would miss American food this much but it was the best way I could have spent my money honestly.

This next coming week we get to go to Wendys again so that'll be a dub, all my personal money is about to be spent on frostys.

I've had the opportunity to meet a lot of really cool people these past few weeks. We met this guy named Juan, he is about 64 yrs old, has about 4 teeth, and still works construction, he doesn't have very much, but he couldn't be happier. He and his partner are the happiest people I've ever met. Everytime he seems us, his face lights up and has the biggest smile on his face. Never been so happy to see a 4 toothed smile.
Another guy we have been meeting with is Alejandro, we gave him a book of Mormon last week. And this week when we met with him, the first thing he said was that this book (Book of Mormon) is a blessing from God. In one week he has read from 1 nephi - Alma 19. He is willing to change everything about his life and its so cool to see.

Elder Soares, from the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is also coming to the DR and giving a talk to our mission this next week. So that will be pretty cool haha.

Miss you guys, id love to hear from you guys. Here's some pics from the past few months. Let me know if you guys can access them.
